The enve ses rear disc wheel has been honed for speed using cfd analysis and testing in mercedes-amgâs wind tunnel. It is most aero efficient at speeds over 27mph, giving competitive tt and triathlon specialists an advantage over their peers.
Speed isnât the only arrow in its quiver, though, as carbon specialists enve have carefully constructed the sidewalls using spread tow carbon fibre technology, which means the carbon is spread evenly and sandwiched around a light, machined foam core, to achieve maximum durability, impact resistance and stiffness with minimal weight.
It is further optimised with a generously sized valve window for easy pump attachment and the creation of specialist, disc brake-specific rims. That means no brake track, so a saving of 40-60g per rim to offset the disc hub weight, along with greater impact resistance and lateral stiffness. Better responsiveness to acceleration, steering and braking is also achieved, since the mass moves from the rim to the hub, reducing the rotational inertia of the wheel.
The ses rear disc wheel is road tubeless compatible, thanks to the generous width of its rims, optimised for use with 25mm tyres, which means thereâs less chance of pinch flats, less chance of debris punctures and tyres can be run at a lower pressure for better comfort and grip, even at high speeds.
Designed to be paired with enveâs highly aero optimised ses 7.8 wheel, the ses rear disc wheel is as comfortable to ride on as it is speedy.
